About Me

Hello, I’m Claire! Originally from East Sussex, UK, I’ve lived in Japan for the past 7 years with my husband and daughter. I enjoy yoga, watching movies, and traveling, and I love experiencing different cultures.

My teaching journey began at an eikaiwa, where I worked with a wide range of students. After returning to the UK to earn a Master’s degree, I moved back to Japan and started teaching at the university level, where I’ve been ever since.

I specialize in academic English, helping students succeed in exams like IELTS, EIKEN, TOEFL, TOEIC, and CELPIP. I also have extensive experience teaching young learners, general English, and business English. My approach focuses on practical language skills that go beyond exams, equipping students for real-world academic success.

Although I teach primarily in English, I use conversational Japanese when needed to ensure clear communication and support.
